Visiting a church for the first time can feel a little uncomfortable when you don’t know what to expect. Where do I go? What should I wear? What will my kids do? Will I fit in?
We want to answer those questions before you arrive so you can walk through the doors knowing what to expect.
Sunday School begins at 9:30 AM and worship begins at 10:30 AM.
If you’re joining us for worship, arriving about 10-15 minutes early will give you plenty of time to park, come inside, and find a seat.
We have parking in front of the church, along the side of the building, and behind the church. As our guest, feel free to park along the side near the front entrance. That will put you just a few steps from where you need to go.
Come in whatever makes you comfortable. Most people at 242 dress casually, but you’ll see a variety of styles on Sunday morning. Jeans are fine. Dressing up is fine.
We’re much more interested in having you with us than what you’re wearing.
Absolutely not. You’ll be greeted warmly when you arrive, and we’ll be happy to help you find your way around or answer any questions.
Don’t be surprised if people introduce themselves and say hello, but you won’t be asked to stand, introduce yourself in front of everyone, or do anything that puts you on the spot.
Giving is part of worship for those who call 242 their church home. As our guest, please don’t feel any obligation to give.
Our Sunday worship service begins at 10:30 AM and includes music, prayer, and teaching from the Bible.
Our worship service is relaxed and centered on Jesus. We have a small praise team, piano, and guitar, and sing a mix of contemporary songs and hymns. We sing together, pray, and spend time learning from Scripture. Services usually finish between 11:45 AM and noon.
You don’t need to know the songs or understand everything that’s happening. Come in, find a seat, and worship with us.
Children are welcome at The Church at 242. During Sunday School, we have nursery, preschool, and children’s classes where kids can learn the Bible in an age-appropriate setting.
During our 10:30 worship service, nursery and preschool are available, while older children worship with their families.
Students in grades 7-12 meet for Sunday School at 9:30 AM and Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM.
Our goal is to give students a place where they can learn Scripture, ask honest questions about faith, and learn what it means to follow Jesus in everyday life.
