Dr. Dennis Parish has been blessed to serve as pastor for 20 years at The Church At 242. Brother Dennis has served in several churches in Texas and New Mexico. His ministry here has seen the church grow from a total of 8 his first morning to what it has become today. Pastor Dennis serves the Southern Baptists of  Texas Convention as the Field Ministry Strategist for the Houston metro area. Brother Dennis also serves as a member of the Executive Committee for the East Texas Baptist Family Ministries as well as serving on the pastoral advisory board of Tzedakah Ministries.  Brother Dennis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and a Master’s Degree in Christian Counseling Psychology and a Doctorate of Ministry and Doctorate of Philosophy in Ministry.  He and his wife of 44  years, Karen, have two grown children and 12 grandkids.  They also own and operate PCAL Christian School, a Pre-K through 12th grade private school. 


 

Minister to Students—Joe Fernandez

Our student ministry is led by Pastor Joe Fernandez.  Joe joined the leadership team of our church in 2001.  His passion for students, his love for the Lord, and his commitment to those to whom he ministers are trademarks of his service to ‘his’ kids.  Joe is married to his wife Kerri. They have four boys; Ryan, Luke, Josiah, and Jase.

 

 


 

 

Children's Ministry Coordinator - Brian Chaplin

Brian has been a member of “The Church at 242” since childhood where he was saved and received believers Baptism. Brian began working with children as a youth and was a VBS volunteer as soon as he was old enough to contribute.

When Brian joined the church youth group he began working with Gospel Lakes Ranch, an outreach mission for inner city children. As a young adult Brian has been trained by Child Evangelism Fellowship and served the summer of 2017 at Gospel Lakes as a full time counseler. Brian has been responsible for teaching children about Jesus, leading many to salvation and continues to serve.
