A Month of Giving, Gratitude & Generosity
As we prepare to celebrate the Feast of Booths (Sukkot), we are also setting aside the month as a special time to bless families in need through our Feast of Booths Food Drive.
The Feast of Booths was a joyful harvest celebration. It was a time when God’s people remembered His faithfulness and provision. During the feast, the Israelites brought offerings before the Lord and rejoiced in the blessings He had given them. Scripture also repeatedly connects God’s blessing with a responsibility to remember and care for those in need.
This year, we want our celebration to be more than something we simply observe. We want our gratitude to become generosity.
Throughout the month, we invite you to bring nonperishable food items to help provide for individuals and families in our community. Every can, box, and bag is an opportunity to thank God for what He has provided for us and to share that provision with someone else.
As we remember how God provided for His people in the wilderness, may we also allow Him to use us to help provide for others.
Give with gratitude. Share His provision. Bless our community.
“When you have eaten your fill, be sure to praise the Lord your God for the good land he has given you.”
